If you haven't seen it yet, red has been everywhere. Red was clocked on the fall runway a multitude of times, making it enable to be a trend this year. Red is the color of power, and this step toward red supremacy is delightful. Typically, red is a seasonal color exclusively pulled out of the closet for Christmas and Valentine's Day. Limiting red to these seasons creates this notion that red is a color that can't be casually worn. The notion that red can only be worn for certain occasions is assigned. The color red should be warned when one warrants it. There is no need to justify wearing intensity, allow yourself to live in the intensity of the color.
I challenge my readers to embrace the color red, to not be intimidated by it. There are so many ways to style the color, and every option varies in intensity. I am not declaring one go dress up as a STOP sign, rather play with the color and find how you like to wear it. Red is one of those rare colors that looks beautiful on everyone.
Pops of Red I Appreciate:
Coats: My favorite red thing in my closet is my red coat. It is a shiny red Sam coat I got a couple of years ago. It is seriously one of my most complimented items in my wardrobe and with good reason. I love bright coats! Most of my wardrobe is neutral, I add my color through accessories.
Shoes: A red pair of heels can never disappoint. You can pair a red pair of heels with a little black dress, or a cute bodysuit with jeans. A neutral base is your friend when styling with red
Jewelry: The best way to add subtle color is through the use of colorful accessories. I am not one for plastic-looking accessories. When I talk about red in jewelry, I am talking about red stones set in gold. Red partnered with gold is a beautiful combination and earrings with this idea in mind are being produced more every day.
